my asus aspire d257 has no wifi, i just installed the Wireless driver Atheros, but how can i sure that the wifi is installed?.. i can’t connect to wifi, where can i find this icon so that i can see the connection of wifi..

I don’t know if you already fixed your problem, but if not, please continue to read this, maybe it can help you to your problem. I also have the same problem as yours with my Acer Aspire One D257, I tried also to install Wireless LAN atheros and Wireless LAN intel, but no icon of wifi appear.. but as of today, I saw the answer to my problem.. I just install the Wireless LAN Broadcom, and unplug my LAN, and tried to open my WIFI router. the LAN icon should change into WIFI icon, and i just connect it and enter password, and done, i can now connect to the internet using WIFI.. I hope I did help you.. by the way, It comes to my mind that i read the note attached in the back of my acer, say’s that, it was supported by WLAN broadcom.. so i tried to install the WLAN broadcom.. maybe you should also checked it..

There are two touchpad drivers provided, please choose the appropriate one. Good luck!

It depends on your netbook. There are three available drivers for Wi-fi devices Intel, Atheros, and Broadcom. Please try them one by one, start with Atheros.
